Gretsch-Unitas GmbH Baubeschläge (Gretsch-Unitas), Johann-Maus-Str. 3, 71254 Ditzingen/Ger­many take the­ pro­tec­tion of per­sonal data of their customers and prospec­tive customers very ser­i­ously and comply with the­ data pro­tec­tion leg­is­la­tion. In no case will the­ col­lected data be sold.

The­ fol­lowing infor­mation explains how Gretsch-Unitas guar­an­tees this pro­tec­tion and which data is col­lected for which pur­pose; fur­ther­more, users agree with the­ neces­sary use of data and are informed about their rights.

1.    Per­sonal data
Per­sonal data are indi­vidual details about per­sonal or factual circum­stances of a spe­cific or identifi­able nat­ural person. This includes infor­mation such as name, address, tele­phone number and birth date. Infor­mation which is not directly related to the­ real identity of a person – e.g. visited websites or number of users of a website – is not per­sonal data.

3.    Data secu­rity
Gretsch-Unitas takes all neces­sary technical and organ­i­sa­tional secu­rity measures to pro­tect per­sonal data against misuse and loss. All data is stored in a secure oper­ating envi­ron­ment which is not pub­licly acces­sible.

Where pos­sible, confi­den­tial data is trans­ferred using the­ HTTPS pro­tocol with SSL cer­tificate encryp­tion.

4.    Data pro­cessing, consent to the­ use of data
When users visit the­ websites www.g-u.com or www.g-u.de, the­ web server of Gretsch-Unitas will tem­porarily store the­ fol­lowing data by default to ensure system secu­rity:

  • connec­tion data of the­ requesting com­puter (IP address),
  • identifica­tion data of the­ browser and oper­ating system type,
  • Gretsch-Unitas web pages visited,
  • date and dura­tion of the­ visit.

A compi­la­tion of this data with other data sources is not made, in fact it is deleted after a sta­tis­tical anal­ysis.

Gretsch-Unitas also cap­tures and stores all the­ infor­mation users enter on the­ website or transmit to Gretsch-Unitas in any other way. Such data is e.g.:

Gretsch-Unitas is enti­tled to col­lect, pro­cess, and store the­ above data for the­ above pur­poses, and to use it for their own pur­poses. The­ user gives his express consent to this, and the­ consent is logged by Gretsch-Unitas. More­over, in connec­tion with the­ use of the­ websites www.g-u.com/www.g-u.de and online orders, Gretsch-Unitas is enti­tled to con­tact users via e-mail; the­ user gives his consent to this.

  • If the­ user has expressly consented

Anonymised data (if an assign­ment to a par­tic­ular person is not pos­sible) may be used by Gretsch-Unitas for sta­tis­tical pur­poses and also passed on to third par­ties.

5.   With­drawal of consent, dele­tion of data
The­ user can at any time revoke his consent regarding the­ storage of his per­sonal data or demand from Gretsch-Unitas the­ correc­tion of the­ stored data. For this pur­pose it is suf­ficient to send an e-mail to Gretsch-Unitas: info(at)g-u.de. If the­ consent for the­ storage and pro­cessing of per­sonal data is revoked, the­ websites www.g-u.com and www.g-u.de can no longer be fully utilised by the­ user.

Per­sonal data is deleted

  • if users revoke their consent to the­ storage,
  • if the­ knowl­edge of the­ data is no longer required to fulfil the­ objec­tive pursued with the­ storage,
  • if its storage is or has become inadmis­sible for other legal reasons.


6.    Cookies
In sev­eral places of the­ websites www.g-u.de and www.g-u.com, cookies are used which serve to make the­ site more user-friendly, effec­tive and safe. Cookies are small text files allowing for the­ recog­ni­tion of users. They are stored by the­ browser memory on the­ com­puter of the­ user. Most of the­ cookies used by Gretsch-Unitas are so-called "ses­sion cookies" which are automat­ically deleted after the­ user has left the­ website.

Gretsch-Unitas also uses "per­ma­nent cookies" in order to cap­ture infor­mation about users who repeat­edly visit the­ website. In this way an optimum user guid­ance is achieved, and the­ website user is offered the­ greatest pos­sible var­iety and avai­l­a­bility of new con­tent. The­ con­tent of a per­sis­tent cookie is limited to an identifica­tion number. Name, IP address etc. are not stored.

Using the­ website is also pos­sible without cookies. Users can deac­ti­vate the­ storage of cookies in their browser, or limit the­ storage to spe­cific websites, or adjust their browser in a way that it noti­fies the­ arrival of a cookie. User also can delete cookies from their hard disc. In this case, only a limited page pre­senta­tion and limited user guid­ance are pos­sible.

8.    Right to infor­mation
According to the­ German Fed­eral Data Pro­tec­tion Act, the­ user is enti­tled to inspect at any time his per­sonal data stored by the­ provider and to obtain infor­mation on the­ data's origin and receiver and on the­ storage pur­pose. Fur­ther­more, the­ user has a right to rectifica­tion, blocking or dele­tion of his data if neces­sary. The­ infor­mation will be pro­vided in writing. The­ request for infor­mation must be made in writing and sent to Gretsch-Unitas GmbH Baubeschläge, Johann-Maus-Str. 3, 71254 Ditzingen/Ger­many; a copy of the­ ID card must be enclosed.

9.    Fur­ther infor­mation
The­ user is aware of the­ fact that under the­ current state of the­ art privacy for data trans­mis­sions on the­ Internet cannot be guar­an­teed. In this respect, users are respon­sible them­selves for the­ secu­rity of the­ data they transmit on the­ internet.
