One Blackfriars

The high-rise building is located on the Southbank, the cultural centre of London, close to several underground stations. The building provides views over the Thames to the parliament buildings, the London Eye, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Shard tower.

The glass facade system of One Blackfriars is clad in a special double-skin envelope which contributes towards reducing energy costs and also assists the flow of air through all levels of the building. The design is a mixture of angular and curved lines. The irregular building mass grows outwards out of a slender base, and tapers towards the top of the building. From the ground, the silhouette of the tower when viewed from behind is far more slender than when viewed from the front. When viewed from the side, the building form is reminiscent of a vase or boomerang.

This tower is another avant-garde skyscraper which will further enrich the London skyline.
