BallsportARENA Dresden
It's as if the site next to the Heinz-Steyer-Stadium right at the entrance to Sportpark Ostra was predestined for this project and therefore provides the last piece in the puzzle of an area whose character is defined by sports facilities. The building is not far from the city centre which, according to the architect Sebastian Fest, was a crucial factor when choosing the site.
The immediate surroundings will above all be defined by the distinctive urban situation in combination with Yenidze, an integral part of the townscape. The former factory building (cigarette factory) is one of the architectural landmarks of Dresden. It stands on Weißeritzstraße on the eastern edge of Friedrichstadt near the congress centre. It was built between 1908 and 1909 in the style of a mosque, has an overall height of 62 metres and today is used as an administrative building.
Relatively early on, the GU group building project consulting division established contact with the client's representative and subsequent operator, Frank Lösche, regarding tendering for an access organisation based on an electronic master key system. The requirement was to provide an interface with the burglar alarm system already planned.
Schädlich GmbH, the metalworking firm commissioned by the client, placed the order for planning and construction of the electronic components with the GU installation partner Matec. Matec created a functioning system in response to the requirements for access control, burglar alarm system, SHEV system and escape door control system. This ensures its functional reliability.
Benefits for the client and metalworking firm: it was possible to clearly define the interfaces in the early stages of the project and therefore from the outset avoid potential stumbling blocks during implementation.
GU solution: access to the BallsportARENA is managed using the electronic master key system by BKS.
