Bosco Verticale

800 trees, 5000 shrubs and a further 14000 plants thrive on the balconies and comprise an area of one hectare. The towers have a classic symmetrical form and a black facade with a high proportion of glass. The balconies which project out of the facade like left open drawers are striking elements.

The houses were designed by the firm of architects Boeri Studio and building contractor Manfredi Catella. Their work received the 2014 International Highrise Award, which is accompanied by a prize of 50,000 euros and, since 2004, has been awarded every two years by the city of Frankfurt am Main in collaboration with the Deutsche Architektur-Museum and DekaBank.
