Maximum security is achieved when modern technology meets individual requirements. The patented nuvius locking system offers high flexibility and a wide range of applications – from large commercial properties to private residences. Various key copy protection options as well as 4- or 8-fold scanning locking bars provide additional protection. The nuvius, nuvius SL, and nuvius SLX series offer variants with enhanced manipulation protection.

Key copy protection
No compromises in protection against illegal key copying thanks to selectable concealed or movable key copy protection.
Drill protection

- The keys have the corresponding countersinks for these query elements. If they match, the key can be turned and the door opens.
- Different combinations of these elements allow for greater variation.

By selecting the coupling, cylinders receive different functions, e.g.
Emergency and danger function – even if a key is inserted on the inside, the door can be opened from the outside with an authorized key.
Standard function – a key inserted on one side prevents the door from being opened with a key on the other side.
concealed copy protection
This element checks the copy protection groove in the key. Since the copy protection groove cannot be illegally duplicated, you can be sure that no copy of your key will be made without your knowledge.

By inserting an authorized key, a shear line is created between the housing pins and the core pins. This enables the key to be turned.
core pin
A core pin is a part of the locking cylinder that aligns itself when the correct key is inserted, allowing the cylinder core to be turned and the lock to open or close.

The nuvius reversible key system offers high-quality standard features and numerous special functions, making it highly versatile. It meets strict standards such as EN 1303 and DIN 18252 as well as security guidelines for drill and pull protection.

It categorizes security classes based on criteria such as effective differs, number of movable tumblers, drill protection, and torsional strength of the cylinder. This standard is crucial for assessing the security of mechanical locking devices and is often combined with other standards to perform comprehensive security evaluations.

The DIN 18252 standard covers profile cylinders for locks and defines requirements for their locking and attack resistance. This standard includes various security classes, which are determined by specific tests of the mechanical resistance of locking cylinders. In particular, it regulates BZKB drill/picking protection as well as resistance to physical attacks such as drilling or pulling out the cylinder. Compliance with this standard is important to ensure security in burglary-prone areas.

GMK system
A grand master key system (GHS) is a complex type of master key system that is often used in large building complexes such as administrative buildings, universities, or hotels. These systems consist of many differently keyed cylinders, which are organized into different hierarchy levels or keying groups.The superior grand master key can operate all cylinders in the system, thus offering high flexibility in the management of access rights. In a GHS system, group-based assignment of keying numbers can also be carried out to maintain an overview of the various authorization levels.
This structure makes it possible to set up differentiated access authorizations and ensures that certain keys can only open specific doors, while other keys offer more comprehensive access options.
