"Thieves thrive on opportunity" – so most burglars don't care whether it's your house or the neighbour's. Perpetrators look for the easiest and quickest route. A video surveil-lance system has proven to be an effective deterrent to would-be burglars. More and more homeowners want to protect themselves and their property more effectively and therefore make use of video surveillance, also in combination with a Smart Home Sys-tem. The pictures taken by HD cameras today are so clear, also when taken in the dark, that crime clearance rates are very high nowadays

The Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Home Affairs (BMI) and the German Insurance Association (GDV) have published the crime statistics for 2018 and thus the current slump figures. Housing burglary has fallen by 16.3 percent compared to the previous year. The amount of losses had also fallen by 50 million euros and, at 310 million euros, was at its lowest level since 2007.

According to the BMI, however, the proportion of attempted break-ins continues to rise. In Germany, for example, around 45 percent of typical attempted burglaries fail because of burglar-resistant technology for doors, french doors and windows because perpetrators do not enter the house quickly enough and break off the attempted burglary.

This development disproves the often-awakened impression that the individual is powerless against the increasing number of burglary offences. The GDV also confirms that burglar-resistant construction elements make it more difficult for criminals to do their job.

But how does the homeowner find the right solution for his property? This is where the skilled tradesman is in demand as a competent contact and consultant. The GU Group has a complete range of products, coordinated in every detail, which the specialist company can advise the apartment or house owner on individually.

New in the range - Video technology from BKS

BKS GmbH, a company of the GU Group, develops and produces mechanical and electronic locking cylinders, locks and locking systems as well as panic locks for escape and rescue routes. Mechanical and electronic system solutions are offered for access control. New in the range is now a complete and manageable range of HD and IP video surveillance technology and burglar alarm systems (EMA) for private homes and small commercial enterprises. Particular importance is attached to the reliability and quality of the products. The interaction of the products convinces by simple installation and thus as a fast functioning complete system. Intuitive, user-friendly and reliable

BKS GmbH, a company of the Gretsch-Unitas group, develops and produces mechanical and electronic locking cylinders, locks and locking systems as well as panic locks for escape and rescue routes. Harmonised mechanical and electronic system solutions are available for access control. The product range now includes a comprehensive well-structured assortment of HD and IP video surveillance technology and burglar alarm systems for privately owned homes and small commercial businesses. A great deal of value is placed on the reliability and quality of these products. Interaction between the products is particularly impressive because they are easy to install and are quickly operational as an overall system. The customer is provided with detailed operating instructions containing many useful tips to enhance the security and functionality of the system.

Video alarm technology – security for flexible application

The new video technology products by BKS quickly scares off perpetrators. The camera and recorder are based on IP technology and operate partially via WLAN. They can be used very flexibly for privately owned homes or commercial premises.
IP stands for Internet Protocol. This protocol is used to assign so-called IP addresses to network-compatible devices to allow the individual devices in a network to communicate.

The IP WLAN camera is easy to install. The compact design is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. IR-LEDs with an operating distance of up to 30 metres are installed for nighttime operation which means that clear pictures can also be taken in the dark. The high-resolution 3MP sensor (full HD, max. 2304 x 1296 pixels) ensures fine detail recognition. Data can be saved independently on MicroSD cards.

The IP recorder is easy to install and detects cameras automatically. A video motion detection system and scheduler are also integrated. The real-time display and recording takes place in full HD (1080 pixels). Live images are streamed and alarms administered on a monitor (HDMI/VGA) and/or smartphone app.

Video intercom kit (complete set for privately owned home)

The intercom module is designed for installation outdoors and has a stainless steel housing. It is impact-resistant according to IK07. (The IK rating describes the ability of a housing for electrical equipment to withstand mechanical impacts, i.e. the impact energy the housing can withstand without breaking on a scale of 01-10).

The module is equipped with a 1.3 MP wide angle camera (2.8 mm focal distance), a microphone, a loudspeaker and a bell. Audio and video messages from visitors can be recorded in the building on a 7" touchscreen display with SD card, and also called up via an app on a mobile phone.

The module can be installed on the wall or can be flush-mounted (optional). Both versions are equipped with an alarm contact that detects and displays when the module is being tampered with or removed. An electric strike, for example, can be connected and also controlled remotely via a switchable output. If required, an additional kit can be connected to protect the secondary entrance door, the gate or garage.

Intruder detection system for the home: protects you, your property and your privacy

The new alarm systems by BKS satisfy many requirements. They fit unobtrusively into the daily life of the user, can be operated intuitively and provide reliable protection. The alarm system can be adapted flexibly and optionally extended: in other words, you only buy what you need. This high-quality alarm system kit consists of a hybrid alarm control unit, three passive infrared motion detectors, a magnetic contact and two handheld transmitters for operation.

The hybrid alarm control unit (hard-wired and wireless) has an integrated stand-alone GSM/GPRS module. (GPRS is the name of a package-oriented service for data transmission in GSM/mobile radio networks. With this service, the data is converted into individual packages at the transmitter which are then transferred individually and reassembled at the receiver.) Installation is extremely simple due to the signalling preconfiguration and can be operated intuitively. Secure 2-way radio transmission at 868 MHz and automatic channel changeover is used.

The passive infrared motion detectors (PIR) are equipped with an acceleration sensor, anti-masking system and have an operating distance of 15 metres. PIRs detect heat from persons in the infrared range and trigger electrical, visual or acoustic alarm signals. The detector therefore senses body heat. The acceleration sensor detects tampering (detector torn off) and the anti-masking system detects when the sensor has been tampered with using glue, hairspray or spray paint. The sensors are connected wirelessly to the control centre.

The magnetic contacts send a signal to the control centre when a window and/or door is opened. They are equipped with a free I/O contact via which existing (hard-wired) detectors or further external contacts can be controlled.

An easy-to-operate handheld radio transmitter with visual and acoustic checkback signal and freely programmable push-buttons allow them to be activated and deactivated. They have an operating distance of up to 150 metres.

The consistently high quality standard of the products and well thought-out interaction of all components provides a future-oriented, reliable solution that represents enhanced security for the home.
